Norman Finkelstein Is Wrong on Israel's War With Iran - Tarik Cyril Amar

Historian Tarik Cyril Amar responds to Dr. Norman Finkelstein’s analysis of Israel’s war with Iran and argues that Finkelstein gets several key points wrong. In this segment, Tarik says Finkelstein makes “colossal mistakes” by too quickly dismissing possible Israeli influence in major U.S. decisions, by treating Donald Trump as if he could not be fooled, and by downplaying how deeply Israeli intelligence and pro-Israel networks penetrate the American system.

Tarik also argues that the Iraq war and the war on Iran cannot be separated so easily from the neoconservative-Israeli nexus, even if Washington ultimately bears primary responsibility. The core of Tarik’s criticism is respectful but sharp: Finkelstein is right to insist that the United States is to blame, but wrong in the way he argues the case.
